Maintenance Planners - MTTR can only be accurate if the following are done right

1️⃣ The "breakdown notification" is entered on the day and time the breakdown happens.

2️⃣ The "breakdown work order" is closed on the day and time the repair is completed and the equipment goes online.

If there's no breakdown notification in the system just because of production impact and people scrambling to get the equipment online, there will be no accurate MTTR data.
Even an "After-The-Fact (ATF) breakdown notification/work order with the day and time is sufficient.

If technicians don't close out the breakdown work order due to whatever reason, the least they can do is confirm their time so there can be some level of traceability.

Instances where materials are tied to the breakdown work order that are in back order. In this instance, cost capturing conflicts with the need to get accurate MTTR.

Again, CNFing the work order will give some level of point of reference.

Imagine a system where breakdown notifications are entered but there's no discipline to TECO work orders when the repairs are completed?

How do you even calculate true MTTR?
