FUNCTIONAL LOCATIONS: A functional location is an element in a technical structure, representing an area of a system at which an object can be installed. Objects that can be installed at functional locations are called pieces of equipment in the PM System. Functional locations can be structured according to the following criteria: o functional criteria o process-related criteria o locational criteria EQUIPMENT: Equipment is primarily used to represent maintainable items, particularly rotables and rotable hierarchies. A history of equipment movements is recorded throughout the equipment’s life. Productive Unit Structure: Structure in the equipment with a lower-level hierarchy (Means spares) Packaging: Maintenance actions, identified from the maintenance strategy development process (RCM), will be grouped by the area or equipment type, access requirements, resource type, and frequency and uploaded into SAP Maintenance Plans and Task Lists.
